Novel Ink's Questions to Me:

1. What book was the biggest disappointment in 2014?

Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell. It was my first time reading a book by Rowell and I was expecting to be blown away, instead I was completely disappointed.

2. If you could be friends with a character (boy and girl, if you'd like) who would you choose?

My girl friend would have to be Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter series  by J.K. Rowling. She is incredible loyal, intelligent, brave, patient, kind and would make a wonderful friend.

My boy friend would have to be Jem Carstairs from the Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare. He is the sweetest and most caring friend I have ever read about.

3. What book would you like to become a movie/TV series?

With the assumption that they would have a perfect cast, an unlimited budget and an internationally-accessible stage to film on, I think I'll have to say House of Secrets by Chris Columbus and  Ned Vizzini. Its really action-packed, has a great set of characters and, I think, would easily translate to a screenplay. Also the author are literally world-famous directors. Columbus directed the first two Harry Potter movies, The Gremlins, Night at the Museum, and many more.

4. Which books do you want to be turned into a movie/TV show? Do you have a cast in mind?

I am not a fan of book to movie adaptions but I think that the Cherub series by Robert Muchamore (well, at least the first two books that I have read) would make an awesome television series. No, I don't have a cast in mind.

5. What famous person would send you into total fangirl/boy mode?

There are many celebrities that would but I think my ultimate meet would be J.K. Rowling, Emily Deschanel, or Christina Riccio.

6. What is your favourite show to splurge on while watching Netflix?

Well, I am going to be honest and say that I don't really know what the heck Netflix is. Its some sort of American television program...?

7. If you had three wishes, what would you wish for (and no, you can't ask for more wishes)?

1. For universal equality in the world to come into practise within the next ten years in every manner - laws, societal views etc. and thus eradicate the need for war, terrorism, bullying and all forms of violence.

2. Personal access to all books I desire for free. Yeah, that's really selfish of me but whatever.

3. End world hunger.

8. What is the most mind blowing book you've ever read?

Shadowland by Kate Brian. I won't say any more in case it spoils your enjoyment of it!

9. What is the latest book that made you ugly cry?

The most recent book that I cried in would be The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han but my latest "ugly cry" was prbably Sever by Lauren DeStefano.

10. What's your favourite ice-cream?

Plain old vanilla.

11. What couple do you ship the most? (OTP)

It isn't a book couple but I am still going to go with it. Its even a noncanon so don't hate me but... its Stucky! For you non-Marvel watching readers, that is Steve Rogers aka Captain America and Bucky Barnes. I don't know what it is about this "couple" but I ship it so hard it hurts. I have a whole board devoted to this OTP on Pinterest so follow it if your also a fan. There are few of us...

  1. OMG, I can't believe you don't have Netflix 😢 it's this amazing thing that you pay for monthly but its extremely cheap and you can watch all the movies and TV shows that you want, and there are so many. Oh, I cried during a specific part in Sever, I really never saw that coming and I still wish it never happened. Great answers!

    1. Oh! That's sounds fantastic. We kind of have something like that here called Foxtel but isn't cheap. I cried a lot in Sever. I agree - it was so shocking and surprising that you couldn't see any of it coming. Thanks!

  2. You didn't like Eleanor and Park?!? I loved it so much!! Hermione is a pretty common best friend I've noticed :P

    1. No, I didn't like it at all. I found it to be a bit racist (n regards to Park's character) and the ending was terrible. I know it has a lot of fans though. Have you read any of her other books? I still want to. Hermione is amazing. I can see why everyone would want to be her friend! :)

  3. Loving these answers! It's a shame Eleanor and Park was a disappointment for you. I have yet to read a Rowell book and I was thinking of starting with that one too but I might choose another. I agree, it would be nice to see Cherub in picture! Maybe as a telly series because there are so many books. I love your choices of things you want. You can always have a selfish one in there... And you don't know what Netflix is? Research it now!

    1. Thanks Olivia-Savannah! I haven't picked up any other Rowell books yet but I think the next one I want to pick up is Attachments. It sounds cute! That's exactly why I thought Cherub would make a great tv series - there are so many books and thus plenty of inspirations for at least a couple of seasons. I have only read the first two though. Thanks. How can you pass up the chance for free books anyway!? :) No, I don't. Aha! I think all Americans are horrified by my answer. *sheepish grin*

  4. I agree with you on Eleanor and Park; it was not what I was expecting at all! Sure, it wasn't bad, but it was just like... okay? This is what everyone's going on about? Personally, I enjoyed Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell much better. Steve Rogers kills me in all the films ugh. And even though I ship him with Peggy I totally know what you mean about Steve and Bucky haha. ;)

Thank you so much for tagging me! I know I'm a bit behind in responding to your questions (which are great, by the way) I'll be posting my answers on Friday 30th if you're interested. :)

    1. I am glad someone agreed with me about Eleanor & Park! It just wasn't my forte and that ending? It ruined everything. I'll have to pick up Rainbow Rowell's other books soon and try them out. I get everyone shipping Peggy with Steve - I'm am swooning just thinking about him! - but I felt like we didn't get to know her as much as we should of. Enough, that I would want to ship her with Steve anyway. Personally. Stucky all the way! :)

I am definitely interested in seeing your answers and you are most welcome for the nomination - you deserve it. Hopefully you'll enjoy answering the question. I'll keep my eyes peeled for your post.

    2. I thought the same, the ending felt rushed and like it was a bit of an easy option. I want to read Attachments and Landline though, to see if her adult stuff is the same or not. No I get that, they could have done more with Peggy in the film. I'm excited to start watching the new TV show, Agent Carter, but I just need to fin out where I can watch it!

Aw thank you so much! ^_^ I definitely enjoyed answering the questions and I'm looking forward to posting my answers.

    3. The ending was just plain old silly - and yes an easy, cheater's option. I want to read Attachments more than anything but Landline sounds cute too. I am so excited for the television show! Yeah, same. We never get the shows the same here, compared to America/England so hopefully it will still be released! "How to Get Away with Murder" is only starting for us (the beginning of season one) in two months time and I am pretty sure America is already finished it! We are also normally at least one or two seasons showing behind them so I don't know when we will get the show here!

      I'm so glad. :)

    4. To be honest, I felt like most of the book was like that. Sure, it was an easy cute read, but I felt like not a lot happened and it was really predictable. I don't know, I hope her other stuff is better. She's a really nice person though, I was lucky enough to go to one of her book signings and she just seemed so happy to be there. We're lucky in England because now some of the big shows (like Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead) have started airing new series 24 hours after the US. Although there are still some things I need to rely on Netflix and other places for haha.

I've posted my answers over at Bookmarks and Blogging now if you're interested. :)

    5. It was predictable, but what ruined it mainly for me was the characters, especially Park. I really do want to get onto her other stuff but - like you - I can only hope its better. Naww, that's nice. I wish we had people like her come down here to do signings! The biggest name we've had is Derek Landy (author of the Skulduggery Pleasant series). Australia gets Home & Away before you guys (and every other country) but that's about it!

Awesome. I'll check it out asap. :)
