Description (from Goodreads):

Antiques restorer, Rowena Lindstrom, finds herself the owner of an ancestral armoire containing a hidden key and a magic mirror leading to another realm!

But the handsome warrior prince waiting on the other side is truly the final straw. This must be an elaborate joke, right? As she struggles to discover the truth, Rowena learns Prince Caedmon Austiere needs the key to save his kingdom. In the end, she cannot deny him anything, including her heart.

Author Bio:

I am a multi-published, award-winning author who lives in the middle of a cornfield in NW Indiana. My loving husband, two beautiful children and a bevy of spoiled pets have agreed to stay and, in exchange for three rations per day and laundry service, tolerate my lunacy. While I spend most days happily ensconced in crafting romance across a multitude of genres, an underground coup has been percolating. The dogs just informed me the cat is secretly vying for dictatorship.

My Thoughts:

What worked for me?

1. The characters. I absolutely adored all of them. Caedmon absolutely stole my heart. He was so damn charming, funny, sweet, gorgeous... everything you could possibly want in a romantic interest. Rowena was perfect too. She has that sweet, she-could-be-a-random-girl-on-the-street vibe. The realistic, relatable, lovable kind of character we all look for and love.

2. The romance! The chemistry and tension between our main characters was irresistible! It pulled you in completely and I just wanted to jump into the book and smash the glass mirror so they could finally be together!

3. The historical sections. Wow! The author nailed the language of Prince Caedmon's world perfectly. You could tell that a lot of research went into making all the scenes realistic because they did, in fact, ring true. The detail was subtle and minute and really bought life to those scenes.

What I didn't like?

1. The ending. There wasn't anything necessarily wrong with it but it broke my heart! It was all too sudden and then over and just... ugh! :"(

2. I would have appreciated a few more details into the specific's of the prophecy and the Gleaning and the Rescinder and the rest of it. I remain a little confused as to how it all works.

There isn't much else I can say expect I absolutely loved it and eagerly await the next book.
